He holds a doctorate in political science. He was a visiting researcher at the Center for Islamic Studies at the University of Cambridge, and at the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies in Doha, and specializes in Palestinian politics, Israeli politics, democracy, political systems, and political Islam in the Arab world.
